The Director of Mental Health,LCSW preferred, supervises, trains and provides structure to the mental health therapeutic programs at our agency. This position is responsible for the effective implementation of the agency program statements, mental health contracts and policy and procedures according to state licensing and other regulatory bodies including the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The Director of Mental Health closely supervises the service providers including clinicians, social workers/therapists and Mental Health Rehabilitation Staff in the implementation of the service treatment plans, records and reports in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for the supervision of the assessment and treatment planning process as well as all required documentation. The Director of Mental Health is also responsible to coordinate their duties with all key staff in order to ensure that the treatment services provided is of high quality and is consistent with the treatment philosophy and values of our agency. This includes ensuring that all service operating units maintain a positive, safe and therapeutic culture so that positive treatment can take place within a productive and healthy work culture. This position is also responsible for the ongoing readiness of all mental health and program audits as they pertain to the quality delivery of all clinical and mental health services.Essential Job Duties:
-Evaluate the adequacy of the staffing and services to meet the physical, psychological, and social needs of residents and families. Recommend new staffing models and programs and services as indicated and appropriate.
-Conduct intensive weekly case reviews with therapeutic and line staff.
-In partnership with Associate Director, determine the needs and develop and conduct effective and ongoing trainings with staff to address those needs.
-Supervise trainer and oversee ongoing staff workshops and discussions to help staff reflect upon themselves and their reactions to their peers and residents.
-In partnership with Admissions Coordinator review and approve all applications for admissions to the program.
-In partnership with Associate Director review all incidents and accidents, and, if appropriate, recommend ways to improve the safety of the program.
-DMH Contract monitoring, negotiation, and contract expansion
-Ability to research MHSA funds and complete applications
-Oversee opportunity for transitional housing program
-Network closely with DMH
-Oversee all the DMH components (psychiatrist, nursing, psychologist, clinicians, SA, QA, Aftercare, etc)
-Represent the agency in community meetings ( ACHSA, DMH)
-Oversee all components of DMH contract
-Budget management
-Collaborate with Executive Team on Staffing Models and Budget Analysis
