Must have valid NYS Drivers license to be considered for this position.OMRDD Experience is preferred.
2-4 years in a supervisory capacity.
Major duties / Responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Residence Manager/Director, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide direct supervision of all weekend staff members.
Ensure that all residents are properly groomed and exhibit appropriate dress and hygiene at all times.
Assist residents and staff in the direction of resident services including ADL training, provisions for recreation, group activities including assisting5 residents in the preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks when necessary.
Administer medications to residents and ensure proper administration by medication certified counselors.
Provide a therapeutic recreation program for residents with the emphasis on meaningful recreational, social and leisure time activities, which stimulate the intellectual, interpersonal, and health development of each individual resident. This will be accomplished through direct resident contact, consumer directed planning/input and through instruction of other staff
Maintain appropriate records, directly and indirectly, which will indicate on-going input of consumers’ recreational interests, the extent and level of each residents’ participation in the planned program and stated goals and objectives designed, incorporated and implemented on an individual basis.
Conduct monthly and quarterly assessment(s) of consumer interests and response to activities provided.
Take immediate and proper action in the event of an emergency in accordance with agency policies and NYS OMRDD regulations, i.e. fire emergency, medical emergency, missing resident, etc.
Report untoward incidents in a timely fashion to the Residence Manager and Administrative/Executive staff as needed.
Develop and submit weekend employee work schedule(s) in advance as per agency policy.
Responsible for oversight, staffing and maintaining a full compliment of staff for the weekend.
Review, approve and submit weekend employee’s time sheets as required.
Conduct fire evacuation drills as instructed by the Residence Manager.
Participate in ITT, Cabinet/full staff, IRC, HR Committee and Consumer Clinical Review meetings.
Welcome, sign in and meet with families or guardians of assigned group during visits to the facility.
Maintain complete and accurate resident records.
Communicate with other agencies providing recreation services for CAHS residents.
Have and maintain a valid New York State driver’s license.
Appropriate dress for this position is in accordance with the agency’s dress code.
Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Executive Office, Associate Executive Director, Coordinator of Residential Services, and Residence Manager.
