Administrative Assistant sought for fast-paced adult guardian program that provides social, legal, housing and financial services to mentally ill adults who reside in their own apartments/homes throughout NYC. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: type and handle incoming/outgoing correspondence; relieve Secretary for lunch and vacation; maintain filing system and file documents; assist Program Director in preparation of materials, letters, and documents; assist in the preparation of reports, memos or letters; order and distribute office supplies; handling of bonds/commissions/designations, initial reports and annual reports.An ideal candidate is an extremely organized, smart, self-starter who is able to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities and is comfortable working with mentally ill and older adults who often call in, as well as with a multi-disciplinary staff. Excellent oral and computer skills necessary to effectively complete job assignments.
Excellent Typing Skills (55/wpm). Excellent writing skills including proofreading and editing ability. Pleasant phone manner. Well-organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Bilingual(Spanish/English)preferred. Experience working with older adults or mentally ill clients. Familiarity with legal issues
